President of WAF

Year 2014 – 2015

In 2014, Farid Alizade co-founded the World Alpagut Federation (WAF) and became its first president. During his 1.5-year tenure, he established the foundational framework for the federation, setting standards for the sport and expanding its global reach.

As president, Farid Alizade oversaw the federation’s expansion, establishing chapters and affiliates worldwide. His diplomatic approach facilitated partnerships with other martial arts organizations, integrating Alpagut into the global martial arts community. He prioritized the promotion of Alpagut through international tournaments, seminars, and workshops, increasing the sport’s visibility and fostering cultural exchange among practitioners.

Farid Alizade resigned from his position in 2015. Three months after his resignation, Nizami Jafarov, Deputy of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, was appointed as the president of WAF. In recognition of his contributions, Farid Alizade was invited to serve as the Honorary President of WAF in 2015.
