Vice-President at ADFA

Year 2019 – 2022

The Association of Martial Arts Federations of Azerbaijan (ADFA) was established in 1998 under the “Law on Public Associations” and has been pivotal in advancing physical education and sports in Azerbaijan. ADFA’s mission extends to representing Azerbaijan on the global stage and uniting federations that significantly contribute to the appeal of combat sports.

In 2019, ADFA was reestablished.

The organization’s strategic goals include fostering collaboration among federations, enhancing athlete development through specialized training and education programs, and conducting valuable research in sports science. ADFA also focuses on promoting patriotism among youth while advocating against drug addiction and crime.

Farid Alizade was appointed as the 1st Vice-President of ADFA, reflecting his longstanding commitment to sports and athlete welfare.

ADFA hosted the international championship named “President Cup” in Baku after a 9-month interval, featuring disciplines such as Alpagut, Muay Thai, Ushu Sanda, Free Fighting, ITF Taekwondo, S-1 Professional League, Wing Chun, and martial arts. Over 900 athletes from 11 countries, including Azerbaijan, participated in the competitions. This was the first martial arts championship in Azerbaijan’s history to feature participation from all martial arts disciplines.

ADFA ceased its activities in 2022 following an order from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan.
